According to leading medical professionals, a growing number of children around the globe are at risk for measles as vaccination rates have dropped to their lowest points since 2008.
The Covid-19 pandemic has seriously disrupted normal routine vaccination services. As a result, millions of kids have not received measles vaccination.
Prior to the start of the Covid pandemic, 86% of children worldwide got their first shots of the measles vaccine. That percentage had increased by about 81% by 2021. This has exposed 25 million children to measles. According to public health experts, 95% of children must take the measles vaccine to stop the outbreak.
